📖 What We’re Reading

2 Chronicles 20:1–13 — Eyes upon God in danger

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

A great coalition threatens Judah. Jehoshaphat seeks the LORD, calls a fast, and prays before the gathered people. He remembers God's power and promise while admitting they lack strength and do not know what to do. The prayer models honest dependence without pretending fear and uncertainty are absent.

Key Truth: Bring fear and uncertainty honestly before God.

📖 What We’re Reading

2 Chronicles 20:14–30 — Deliverance and thanksgiving

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

Jahaziel brings God's instruction, and the people worship and follow it. Singers praise God's enduring mercy, the enemy forces destroy one another, and Judah returns with joy. This particular deliverance follows a specific divine message; praise is not a technique that guarantees the same outcome in every crisis.

Key Truth: Trust God's word and give thanks for his help.

📖 What We’re Reading

2 Chronicles 20:31–37 — A faithful reign with an unwise alliance

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The closing assessment recognizes Jehoshaphat's right conduct while noting remaining high places and the people's unprepared hearts. He later joins wicked Ahaziah in a shipping venture, which a prophet rebukes and which fails. Earlier deliverance does not remove the need for discernment in later partnerships.

Key Truth: Continue discerning faithfully after a great deliverance.
