1 Chronicles 4:1–10 — Judah's families and Jabez

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The family lists pause to remember Jabez's prayer to the God of Israel. He asks for blessing, God's presence, and protection from evil, and God grants his request. The account encourages dependence on God; it does not turn these particular words into a formula guaranteeing wealth or ease.

1 Chronicles 4:11–23 — Work within Judah's households

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

1 Chronicles 4:24–43 — Simeon's settlements

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The record turns to Simeon's descendants, towns, and leaders who sought pasture for growing households. It also recounts ancient conflicts over land. These accounts locate the tribe in Israel's history; they do not authorize modern readers to seize others' land. Family growth, geography, and leadership all shape the remembered community.
