📖 What We’re Reading

1 Chronicles 3:1–9 — David's children

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The genealogy records David's children born in Hebron and Jerusalem, naming mothers and a sister as well as sons. It marks the lengths of his reign in both cities. The royal household was a complex family, and later events should be read with these relationships in view.

Key Truth: Read royal history with attention to family relationships.

📖 What We’re Reading

1 Chronicles 3:10–16 — The kings after Solomon

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The list traces the royal line from Solomon through Judah's kings to Josiah's family and Jeconiah. Each name stands for a reign described elsewhere in Scripture. The genealogy preserves continuity without suggesting that every king was faithful. Position within the royal family did not guarantee obedience.

Key Truth: A spiritual inheritance still calls for personal faithfulness.

📖 What We’re Reading

1 Chronicles 3:17–24 — The family line continues

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

Names after Jeconiah show the family continuing beyond the monarchy's downfall. Zerubbabel and further descendants appear in the record. The loss of the throne did not erase the people or their remembered connections. The genealogy makes room for continuity after national disaster.

Key Truth: Loss does not erase every thread of hope.
