2 Chronicles 5:7–10 — The covenant remembered

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The priests place the ark beneath the cherubim in the most holy place. The narrator specifies that it contains the two tables Moses placed there at Horeb. The central object directs attention to God's covenant with Israel after Egypt. The temple's splendor does not replace the covenant words at its heart.

📖 What We’re Reading

2 Chronicles 5:11–14 — Praise and God's glory

🌱 What These Verses Teach Us

The singers and trumpeters praise the LORD together for his goodness and enduring mercy. A cloud fills the house, and the priests cannot continue ministering because of God's glory. The dedication culminates in God's presence rather than human performance. Their thanksgiving points away from their achievement toward his character.
