1 / FOLLOW THE REPAIR PLAN
Say: Find collection, counting and repair.
Do: Match each panel; explain its part in the plan.
Check: Panels 1-3: B, C, A. Jehoiada sets a chest
by the altar (v. 9); scribe and high priest
count/bag money (v. 10); skilled workers repair
(vv. 11-14). Tools and buildings are imagined.
2 / CONNECT THE REPAIR TEAM
Say: Which jobs help the repair happen?
Do: Match the names or roles to their work.
Check: 1-B; 2-C; 3-A. Jehoiada sets the chest (v.
9); scribe and high priest count (v. 10); carpenters
work with timber (vv. 11-12). Other workers
handle stone.
3 / SORT THE HONEST CHOICES
Say: How can someone care for shared
resources?
Do: Mark each choice; explain one reason.
Check: F, R, F. Returning shared tools and
reporting an error show honest care; hiding
supplies does not. These modern examples apply
the faithfulness seen in v. 15; they are not events
in the account.
4 / PLAN A SMALL REPAIR
Say: What can a trustworthy team do next?
Do: Name a task and a way to check it.
Check: Open response: sort and count the pieces;
ask a partner to check. Use pretend paper items
only. No real money, building work or tools are
needed.
5 / REMEMBER
Say: read the exact W1/CG1 verse.
Do: echo unchanged phrases.
Check: follow the printed KJV words; listening
counts.
PLAY TOGETHER
Pairs use six scrap-paper slips as pretend
supplies. One counts; the other checks. Swap
roles and explain why counting and honest care
work together.
Check: Six slips should be accounted for. Recount
a mismatch together. This practice is a modern
game, not a reconstruction of temple accounting.
FLEXIBLE LEARNING
For support: Read aloud; offer oral answers,
pointing, a scribe or partner. Model a clue; allow
time. No personal disclosures required.
Extra challenge, optional: Does verse 15 mean
records and checks are wrong?
Answer: No. It describes trusted men dealing
faithfully. Verse 10 still reports counting money;
the account does not forbid responsible records.
SHORT LESSON / HOMESCHOOL
20-minute essentials: welcome 3; reading 5; tasks
1 and 4 for 6; verse 4; recap/prayer 2. Other tasks
optional.
30-60 minutes: add puzzles, game, retelling and
fuller reading; take breaks.
TAKE HOME & CHECK
Care for one shared item with permission. Echo
the related memory verse; discuss what a trusted
responsibility is.
Quick check: What was the collected money used
for in verse 14?
Answer: It was given to the workmen to repair the
house of the LORD (summary).
Optional praise: thank God for today’s learning;
no music needed.
Teacher reflection: Revisit: __________
ACCURACY & CARE
The title uses Joash; preserve Jehoash in KJV
readings. Repairs were delayed (vv. 6-7), not
instant. No giving requirement, real money
collection or tool use. Faithfulness does not
guarantee riches.
