KJV Memory Verse Cards · Free KJV learning

Six complete practice routines using the ministry’s internal KJV reader.

Use the full verse in the linked KJV chapter as your copying source. Each session gives a reference, a context question, a memory method, and an application. Copy the exact text, including words you might normally paraphrase. The notes below explain the practice and are not Scripture quotations.

  1. Psalm 119:105 · Read, point, repeat. Open Psalm 119:105 (KJV). Read verses 97–112 for context. Copy verse 105; draw a small lamp beside the reference on your own paper. Cover the text and recite. Ask what the image says about God’s word rather than treating it as a promise of knowing every future detail.
  2. James 1:22 · Divide into meaningful phrases. Open James 1:22 (KJV). Read verses 19–27. Mark phrase breaks on your copied verse. Practise one phrase, then join it to the next. Name a response that turns hearing into doing.
  3. Ephesians 4:32 · Add actions. Open Ephesians 4:32 (KJV). Read verses 25–32. Use a simple gesture for kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness while keeping every KJV word. Discuss the reason for forgiveness given in the verse.
  4. John 15:12 · Partner practice. Open John 15:12 (KJV). Read verses 9–17. One person reads while the other follows the exact words. Then switch roles. Describe how Jesus’ love shapes the command, rather than making love mean only a warm feeling.
  5. Philippians 4:6 · First-word cues. Open Philippians 4:6 (KJV). Read verses 4–9. Copy the first word of each phrase as a cue. Recite, compare, correct gently, and try again. Explain the relationship between requests and thanksgiving.
  6. Psalm 100:5 · Remember the reasons. Open Psalm 100:5 (KJV). Read the whole psalm. Identify the qualities of the LORD named in the verse, then practise the exact wording. Finish by explaining why these truths lead to praise.

A five-minute review

Read once with understanding; say the reference; recite without looking; compare with the KJV; repeat the part you missed. Revisit the verse tomorrow, in three days, and next week. Accuracy grows through patient repetition.

Make your own practice cards

Fold plain paper into six sections. On each card put the reference, the exact KJV verse you copied, and one short context reminder on the back. These are instructions for creating cards; this page does not provide a downloadable card file.

For readers needing support

An adult or partner can read aloud. Use large handwriting, generous spacing, and one phrase at a time. Understanding and encouragement matter more than speed or competition.
