Companion Guide | Solve, Connect & Encourage

Freely Received. Freely Shared.
1 / TRACE THE LETTER JOURNEY
Say: Follow the message before and after prayer.
Do: Match every panel; identify one visible clue.
Check: Panels 1-3: C, A, B. Hezekiah
receives/reads the letter, then spreads it before
the LORD (v. 14); Isaiah sends God's reply (v. 20).
Panel 3 imagines the delivery; Isaiah need not
visit the king himself.
2 / RESTORE THE MESSAGE ORDER
Say: What happens before the reply?
Do: Order the steps; check the verse clues.
Check: Printed order: 3, 1, 2. Isaiah sends the
reply (v. 20); Hezekiah reads the letter, then
spreads it before the LORD (v. 14). These are
distinct steps, even though two share one verse.
3 / FIND THE PRAYER WORDS
Say: Which words connect with the prayer?
Do: Circle words; link them to vv. 16,19,15.
Check: HEAR: row 1, columns 2-5 (v. 16). SAVE:
row 2, columns 1-4 (v. 19). GOD: row 3, columns
3-5 (v. 15). Grid is an original learning aid, not a
shortened Bible verse.
4 / BRING A WORRY WISELY
Say: What could the learner pray and do?
Do: Give a short prayer idea and a safe next step.
Check: Open response: God, please help me
respond wisely. Ask a trusted adult for help with
the message. No need to reveal a real worry;
prayer and practical help belong together.
5 / REMEMBER
Say: read the exact W1/CG1 verse.
Do: echo unchanged phrases.
Check: follow the printed KJV words; listening
counts.
PLAY TOGETHER
Partners make letter, prayer and reply cards. One
gives a verse number; the other points to the
card. Then retell together. No actual upsetting
messages are used.
Check: LETTER: v. 14; PRAYER: vv. 15-19; REPLY:
v. 20 and vv. 32-34. God promises this city's
defence in this account.
FLEXIBLE LEARNING
For support: Read aloud; offer oral answers,
pointing, a scribe or partner. Model a clue; allow
time. No personal disclosures required.
Extra challenge, optional: Why does Hezekiah ask
God to save them in verse 19?
Answer: So all the kingdoms of the earth may
know that the LORD alone is God (summary), not
simply so Hezekiah looks strong.
SHORT LESSON / HOMESCHOOL
20-minute essentials: welcome 3; reading 5; tasks
1 and 4 for 6; verse 4; recap/prayer 2. Other tasks
optional.
30-60 minutes: add puzzles, game, retelling and
fuller reading; take breaks.
TAKE HOME & CHECK
Use a pretend worry to practise prayer and asking
for help. Echo all four unchanged memory
phrases, including Selah.
Quick check: Who sends God's reply, and what
happens to Sennacherib in verse 36?
Answer: Isaiah sends the reply; Sennacherib
leaves and returns to Nineveh.
Optional praise: thank God for today’s learning;
no music needed.
Teacher reflection: Revisit: __________
ACCURACY & CARE
No frightening death images. Verse 35 records
judgment; teach gently without reenactment.
God's specific promise for Jerusalem is not a
promise that prayer removes every danger today.
