1 / FOLLOW THE RIVER TRAIL
Say: Find the instruction, river and return.
Do: Match all panels; point to a visible clue.
Check: Panels 1-3: C, A, B. Messenger brings
Elisha's instruction (v. 10); Naaman dips in Jordan
(v. 14); returns and acknowledges God (v. 15). Art
shows one dip, not seven separate pictures.
Appearance is imagined.
2 / REBUILD THE STORY TRAIL
Say: What changes between anger and action?
Do: Order the events; retell with a partner.
Check: Printed order: 3, 1, 2. Naaman dips (v. 14);
first goes away angry (v. 11); servants reason
with him (v. 13). Listening comes before his
changed action.
3 / CRACK THE RIVER CLUES
Say: Which river, how many times, what result?
Do: Fill the clues or find the Bible words.
Check: JORDAN; SEVEN; CLEAN (vv. 10,14). God
heals Naaman in this account. The river is not
magic, and illness is not proof of pride or weak
faith.
4 / LISTEN, THEN TRY
Say: How can we learn without needing to be
right first?
Do: Offer one short reply and a safe action.
Check: Open response: Please show me your idea.
Then listen and try together. Humility welcomes
useful advice; it does not mean following harmful
instructions.
5 / REMEMBER
Say: read the exact W1/CG1 verse.
Do: echo unchanged phrases.
Check: follow the printed KJV words; listening
counts.
PLAY TOGETHER
Partners make three paper labels: ANGRY,
LISTEN, ACT. Link each to the account, then take
turns explaining one clue. Solve together without
racing.
Check: ANGRY: v. 11; LISTEN: servants' counsel in
v. 13; ACT: Naaman follows the instruction in v.
14. Labels are original summaries.
FLEXIBLE LEARNING
For support: Read aloud; offer oral answers,
pointing, a scribe or partner. Model a clue; allow
time. No personal disclosures required.
Extra challenge, optional: What does Naaman
acknowledge when he returns in verse 15?
Answer: He now knows there is no God in all the
earth but in Israel (summary). His return includes
acknowledging God, not praising river water.
SHORT LESSON / HOMESCHOOL
20-minute essentials: welcome 3; reading 5; tasks
1 and 4 for 6; verse 4; recap/prayer 2. Other tasks
optional.
30-60 minutes: add puzzles, game, retelling and
fuller reading; take breaks.
TAKE HOME & CHECK
Retell the change from anger to listening. Practise
the related verse in its three unchanged phrases.
Quick check: Who sent the washing instruction,
and did he come out himself in verse 10?
Answer: Elisha sent a messenger; he did not come
out to deliver it himself (v. 10).
Optional praise: thank God for today’s learning;
no music needed.
Teacher reflection: Revisit: __________
ACCURACY & CARE
No water reenactment or medical advice. God's
healing here is not a promise that obedience
cures every illness. The related James verse does
not promise wealth or status.
